estroven
[Questions & Answers]
Why do I need 'balancing' nutrition?
Beginning in your mid to late thirties, important changes occur in women's bodies. These changes can affect the way a woman looks and feels due to fluctuating oestrogen levels. In your late forties and fifties, oestrogen loss or an imbalance of oestrogen and other hormones leads to menopause and other health changes.
Experiencing fluctuating oestrogen levels is completely natural, but it may be distressing. Natural plant oestrogens, like those provided by Estroven, may play a part in maintaining oestrogen balance naturally.
In addition, the essential vitamins and minerals provided by Estroven have been selected because of their importance for women of any age. It is often difficult to get all the nutrition your body needs through diet alone. Estroven can help supplement deficiencies that may result from an incomplete diet.
Is Estroven just for women in menopause?
No. You don't need to wait until menopause to take Estroven. This product has been specifically formulated to help maintain hormonal balance naturally, safely and gently.
Oestrogen fluctuations can begin as early as your 30s. Peri-menopausal women (in the years leading up to menopause) may experience the most dramatic oestrogen fluctuations. Postmenopausal women also benefit from the balancing ingredients in Estroven. This product may be beneficial regardless of your stage of life.
What is the proper age for women to start taking Estroven?
We believe that any adult woman over the age of 18 can take Estroven.
How should I take Estroven?
The recommended dosage is one caplet per day. We recommend taking Estroven in the morning or evening with one of your meals. Estroven is meant to be taken as a daily supplement.
How long can I take Estroven? Is it suitable to be taken on a long-term basis?
There is no reason why you should not be able to take Estroven for the rest of your life. However, if you notice any unwanted effects from Estroven, discontinue use, and consult your doctor to rule out any other cause for your symptoms.
Will Estroven be of benefit for my heart?
It is possible. The nutrients folic acid, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12 have been shown to help control homocysteine levels. Since high homocysteine levels are not beneficial for your heart, the nutrients in Estroven may help support a healthy heart. In addition, vitamin E has been shown to play a positive part in cardiovascular health maintenance.
May Estroven have a part to play in bone health?
Estroven does provide some calcium, folic acid and plant oestrogens, which, as some scientific research indicates, may play a vital role in the health of your bones.
Can I take Estroven if I have had breast cancer?
In this case you must consult your doctor or medical specialist. Estroven is a food supplement, and should be able to be taken by just about everyone, but checking with your doctor is a precaution you must take if you have any medical condition.
I have heard soya is bad for the thyroid gland, is this true?
Soya is known to be a goitrogenic food. This means that it prevents the uptake of iodine by the thyroid gland. Iodine is a trace mineral needed by the thyroid to make hormones. Research has shown that supplementing iodine can counteract this problem which is the reason why we have added to the Estroven formula.
Will Estroven increase my sex drive?
It is possible. Hormonal balance plays a large role in libido, but we do not have enough evidence to conclude that it will or won't. It is not a parameter that has been thoroughly researched.
I am taking other nutritional supplements. Can Estroven be taken in addition to these?
Yes. The one a day caplets help safeguard your intake of several but not all essential vitamins and minerals. It is perfectly safe to take other vitamins, minerals and/or herbal products with Estroven, but it is recommended that you ensure that daily intake levels of all nutrients and herbs are within acceptable limits.

Are there any side-effects with Estroven?

Amerifit Nutrition, the manufacturer of Estroven, has never scientifically studied Estroven's effect on hot flushes and night sweats however Wassen carried out a three months trial and the results showed a reduction in hot flushes and night sweats, as reported by many of the participants. Please allow 30-60 days of continuous use to realise the full benefits of Estroven.
Can I take Estroven with the contraceptive pill?
Although we have not studied this question scientifically, we are not aware of any evidence that would indicate that a woman should not take Estroven with the contraceptive pill. In a similar way, we also do not believe that a woman eating a diet rich in soy foods should not take the contraceptive pill. Many women in Japan and other Asian countries consume a daily diet rich in soya, providing approximately the same amount of natural oestrogen delivered in Estroven. We have not seen any evidence that this diet interferes with the contraceptive pill. However, we always recommend that you should consult your doctor prior to taking food supplements when on prescription medication, including the contraceptive pill.
Is Estroven safe for women who cannot take synthetic hormone replacement drugs?
Estroven contains natural plant estrogens (phytoestrogens), and does not contain synthetic oestrogen. It is not a drug or over-the-counter remedy. Phytoestrogens are natural and can be taken in conjunction with Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). These natural oestrogens work with your body to support hormonal balance maintenance naturally, safely and gently. If you have specific questions regarding HRT, or other health related concerns, we recommend that you discuss this with your doctor. In any case we always recommend that you should consult your doctor prior to taking food supplements when on prescription medication, including HRT.
Can I take Estroven if I am planning pregnancy, if I am pregnant or breast-feeding?
Whilst all ingredients found in Estroven are deemed safe for food supplements, which are classed as a food, we always recommend that those planning pregnancy, who are pregnant or breast-feeding consult their doctor prior to taking any food supplements.
