About the product
OsteoMarine is designed to help maintain bone health by providing essential nutrients necessary for the maintenance and support of bone density and strength. Just as excessive calcium intake is not advisable, so several factors can inhibit calcium absorption. It has been reported that only 30% of ingested calcium is absorbed. That is why fish oils, magnesium and other vitamins have been included to help maintain absorption and positively influence the activity of cells responsible for bone remodelling. The calcium provided by two capsules is a good top up to the intake obtained from the diet.
Main constituents and their nutritional roles
CALCIUM
- Calcium is essential for building and maintaining healthy bones and teeth, being the main mineral contained in bone. Hence its role in helping prevent osteoporosis.
- Calcium is also required for normal blood coagulation, transmission of signals in nerve cells and muscle contraction.
- When taken at night time, calcium may aid sleep.
MAGNESIUM
- The modern UK diet is low in magnesium as repeatedly indicated by Government surveys which show that the Reference Nutrient Intake for magnesium is not achieved through the diet.
- Magnesium is required for calcium homoeostasis and the function of vitamin D. Therefore it plays an important role in bone health.
- Hormone receptors require magnesium for proper function.
- When taken at night time, magnesium may aid sleep.
VITAMIN D
- Its most important role is maintaining calcium levels in the blood by increasing calcium absorption from food and preventing calcium loss in the urine.
VITAMIN E
- Vitamin E is an important antioxidant that protects polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) in cell membranes from oxidation. Increased PUFA intake needs an increased level of antioxidant protection.
VITAMIN K
- Vitamin K is involved in the transport of calcium into the bone as well as normal blood coagulation.
- It converts osteocalcin, a bone protein, to its active form.
- Works in synergy with vitamin D.
OMEGA 3 FISH OILS
- EPA and DHA enhance calcium absorption by increasing the activity of enzymes involved in calcium uptake in the gut.
- They can help lower triglycerides and cholesterol and have anti-inflammatory properties. So fish oils may help maintain heart health and joint mobility.

Adults who wish to maintain their bone quality, architecture and strength.
