About the product

  • Designed for those who lead particularly active lives, either due to high demands at work or home, those with energetic hobbies or anyone simply looking to maintain their energy levels.
  • A combination of coenzyme Q10 (30 mg) with magnesium to provide nutritional support to help maintain energy production in the body.
  • Suitable for anyone over the age of 16.

Main constituents and their functions:

COENZYME Q10

Coenzyme Q10 is a vitamin-like substance, normally produced by the body, however, in some individuals production of this enzyme may decline with advancing age.

  • The synthesis of the energy molecule, referred to as adenosine triphosphate, depends on many factors, with Coenzyme Q10 being a major one.
  • As energy molecules are short-lived they have to be produced on an ongoing basis. With all body functions depending on energy, a deficiency of Coenzyme Q10 in the long-term may adversely affect overall health.
  • Coenzyme Q10 is an antioxidant, which has been shown to exert a protective effect on the body’s cells.

MAGNESIUM

  • Magnesium is involved in helping to maintain the body’s energy levels.
  • The energy molecule requires sufficient stores of magnesium for its manufacture.
  • Proper nerve and muscle function depends on sufficient magnesium being available.
  • When leading a pressurised life, the body’s requirement for magnesium is increased.

Food sources for magnesium

The best sources for magnesium are whole foods, which include grains, nuts, green leafy vegetables and certain types of seaweeds such as kelp or dulse.

The foods listed above are not always consumed in sufficient quantities in the UK, with government food surveys consistently indicating that the average diet provides less than the government recommendation for this mineral.

Who could benefit from taking Coenzyme Q10 (30 mg) + Magnesium?

  • Those leading very demanding lives
  • Anyone with a particularly energetic hobby, such as sports enthusiasts
  • Those who would like to increase their energy levels
  • Older people as Coenzyme Q10 levels tend to decline with age
  • Coenzyme Q10 supplements are often taken for the maintenance of a healthy heart

Possible Intolerance:

Coenzyme Q10 is best taken in the morning as it may affect sleep. Sensitive individuals may experience gastric irritation when taking food supplements.

Those taking warfarin (or other anticoagulant drugs) should seek medical advice before taking Coenzyme Q10.
